This is brethtaking. I wonder why some of my family left this for Chicago.

My paternal grandparents emigrated from here in approximately 1912. I suppose it was beautiful but tough to make a living here. In her later years, when somewhat senile, my grandmother used to speak in Irish of riding horses along the strand as a young girl.

” You might travel far far from your own native home,
Far away oer the mountains far away oer the foam,
But of all the nice places that I have ever seen,
There is none to compare with the cliffs of Dooneen”

I hope to visit Kilkee before I am too old to do it….I am certain that there are Mulbrandon, Daley and Kelly cousins abounding.

Margaret Mulbrandon: Contact me if you get a chance, I am sure that we can compare family notes. A lot of cousins have surfaced in the Chicago area of late.
