Moore Hall

Moore Hall

Moore Hall Lough Carra, County Mayo, the home of John Moore, the first (and only) President of the Republic of Connaught during the ill-fated 1798 rebellion.

The house was burnt down by the IRA in 1923. They mustn’t have read their history books.

Note the blue skies in October. Summer is here.

I am very interested in the history of the Republic of Connaught.

Can you or any members of this blog send me or direct me to a webite for a history of the Republic of Connaught , and it’s President John Moore?

    Thanks!
