Choosing your battles

My grand-uncle was a quartermaster in the IRA during the War of Independence, responsible for the weapons of the local brigade. The story goes that he was so disgusted with the shenanigans that led to the civil war that followed independence that he buried the weapons on the family farm and emigrated to the USA, never to return.

The stash still lies there in some corner of the farm. His sister claims she knows where it is but she’s not telling. So the story goes.

I’ll give you a tenner for a Lee-Enfield. I got the chance to handle and fire one for a couple of weeks a few years back, they’re great.
