Consider The Lilies


Lilies

When the nuns were caught trying to steal these lilies they lied their way out of it. So the story goes.

Perhaps if they asked she wouldn’t begrudge them the flowers for the altar. Perhaps she would. There is some history here.

When her mother was packed off to the nuns on the promise of an education, they worked her to the bone and taught her nothing. So the story goes. I suppose it was an education of sorts.

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin. And yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
